ELIE LAMBERT
“Le sablier de l’existence” imperturbably ticks our
life to such an extent that today I am the oldest artist
in the gallery.
The oldest but not necessarily the wisest....
What an honor to participate in the 25th anniversary
of the Osborne Studio Gallery on Motcomb St,
founded by Geoffrey Hughes, whom established my
work and at the same time internationalized it. I was
Newmarket, oil on canvas, 100 x 120 cm
so delighted when the gallery invited my late friend,
the legendary Sir Peter O’Sullevan, to become it’s
esteemed chairman after his retirement in 1997.
The painting that I intend for you, represents in
itself what animates my life, race horses, racetracks
and everything that revolves around this passion. It is
such a pleasure to take part in this celebratory show.
