After a rigourous five-year training in
classical oil painting in Spain, studying
the Alla Prima style, Marcus returned to
the UK, and initially established a career
as a portrait painter. He first travelled to
India in 2000 and this was the start of an
intense fascination with the country which
became the driving inspiration behind his
work. Since then he has developed both
an abstract style of painting alongside the
representational work with one informing Early Morning at the Tuileries, Paris, oil on canvas, 58 x 70 cm
