SOPHIE WALBEOFFE
This painting “Flamingos in Amboseli” depicts an
interesting time in Amboseli, where for the first
time in many years Lake Amboseli changed from
a dry, dusty desert into a wonderful swamp and
flamingos came in their thousands giving me
the opportunity to paint elephants amongst the
flamingos. This year it has reverted to dust and Flamingos in Amboseli, oil on canvas, 122 x 90 cm
the elephants are dying from drought whilst the
flamingos have found distant waters again.
I have exhibited African wildlife, Lamu and
English oil and watercolour landscapes with
Geoffrey and the OSG for twelve wonderful years.
My 29th one-woman-show is on 3rd May 2023 at
the Rebecca Hossack Gallery.
