LINCOLN SELIGMAN
The lockdown years necessitated for all of us a
change of direction. A simpler life in a country
studio encouraged me to look more closely at my
surroundings, especially local landscapes, fauna and
flora. I embarked on subject matter I’d never really
painted til then. It was both an energising and
happy experience.
When lockdown ended broader painting
opportunities beckoned once more - in the form
of seven countries in six months. And, after a four
years of missing India, I returned to explore new
Deoghar Evening, acrylic on canvas, 76 x76 cm and wonderful places - as ever its people, horses,
palaces, temples and landscapes a rich and heady
feast for the eye.
