"For me, art is connecting with oneself, flowing and feeling the energy which I transform into matter through painting and sculpture, in order to share it with those who feel my same vibration."
- David Noalia
David Noalia is an artist whose work moves between abstraction and figuration, exploring identity and emotion through color and materiality. His artistic production encompasses human portraiture, nature, and the animal world, fusing technical mastery with expressive freedom in compositions of strong visual impact.
From an early age, he was self-taught, learning through observation and the study of the great masters. He later complemented his training with the painter and academic José María Franco (Huelva), from whom he developed a deep appreciation for colour and an understanding of the importance of gesture and brushwork in creating work with a distinctive identity.
His career has been marked by constant evolution. In 2003, he moved to Paris, where he deepened his study of the Impressionists, absorbing the strength and emotion of their brushstrokes. In 2004, in Granada, he refined his plein air painting practice, exploring light and the subtle nuances of the landscape. After a period of intermittent exploration, in 2012 he fully recommitted to his artistic practice, consolidating a personal style in which the human figure plays a central role. His command of portraiture allows him to capture the essence of his subjects with an intensity that goes beyond mere representation, evoking psychological depth and vital energy.
Noalia’s works, influenced by the light of Sorolla, the brushwork of Velázquez, and the freshness of Gerhard Richter, establish a dialogue between pictorial tradition and a vibrant contemporary vision. His constantly evolving collections have attracted collectors and admirers from Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the Middle East, reaching more than 40 countries.
In 2018, he founded his own gallery in Seville, a space dedicated exclusively to his work. In 2022, the gallery reopened with a new concept, and he currently operates his author-driven gallery, consolidating his artistic presence and offering a meeting point for collectors and art enthusiasts. Since 2021, Noalia has brought his work to the international stage, collaborating with galleries in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and the United States, among others, allowing his art to transcend borders and reach a global audience.
Today, David Noalia continues to develop a solid and constantly evolving artistic career, open to dialogue with new cultural contexts and exhibition spaces. His work—recognizable for its expressive strength and its balance between emotion, technique, and material—stands as a versatile and contemporary proposal, well suited to curatorial projects, international collaborations, and exhibitions in galleries committed to painting with identity and depth.
