Sculpture soon became my field, and here I have developed a traditional style whilst embracing the latest modern techniques to enhance my work and enable greater flexibility.

The youngest in a diversely creative family, recently unearthed school reports describe a love of drawing, painting and making from the very start! Careers in property selling and construction, fishing and fish trading abroad and a spell in commodity trading all preceded Tristram's decision to become an artist at the age of fifty.
A deep love of the countryside and nature, horses and wildlife, coupled with a fascination for history and art history have provided influences for Tristram's work. Painting in oils remains a pastime, but bronze sculpture forms the basis of his artistic practice. Horses and figurative studies have made up the majority of his output; notable pieces include a life size mounted sculpture of jockey Frankie Dettori, which stands at Ascot racecourse and mounted study of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh which was the Coronation gift of the Grenadier Guards to His Majesty King Charles lll. Currently Tristram is working on a mounted sculpture of Sir Winston Churchill.
