After winning a scholarship to read law at Balliol College Oxford, Lincoln Seligman was called to the bar and worked as a shipping lawyer in the City and in the Far East for six years. He jumped ship aged thirty to become a painter and sculptor. He has had numerous one man exhibitions in the West End in London, and Madison Avenue in New York . He has had seven solo exhibitions over fifteen years with OSG. He travels extensively and his visual diaries contribute to the main body of his work; in particular he goes to paint in India every year.
Standard Chartered Bank sent him on a tour of India, Bhutan and Dubai in 2007 and sponsored his sell out exhibition of the resulting one hundred paintings at the Royal Academy, Burlington Gardens .
Lincoln has devoted much of his career to large scale works for contemporary design buildings around the world. These are mainly installation sculptures and giant suspended mobiles designed for atrium spaces, airports, and other transportation hubs, made in steel, glass and textiles.
He undertakes numerous mural commissions and sculptures, and he designs sets for contemporary ballet at Sadlers Wells. He now devotes a large part of his time to painting for exhibitions in London and New York.
