The first painting I saw by Henrietta in 2014, was a six foot, oil copy of a picture of the 4th Duke of Norfolk; it was outstanding with a wonderful attention to detail.
Going socially down-market, I asked her to paint my favourite dog; it was brilliant and would not have been out of place at this years 'Portrait of Dogs’ at the Wallace Collection. I now own pictures by her of flowers, fruit - and even dead mackerel.
I decided to check my judgement by asking Susan Crawford, the leading animal and portrait painter (The Royal Collection has over twenty of her pictures) what were her views of Henrietta’s work; she said that Henrietta was a ‘superb draughtswoman’ and added that she only purchased modern pictures painted by artists of real talent.
